360º panoramic photography, especially in the form of virtual reality (VR) tours, is quickly becoming the tool of choice across multiple industries to communicate valuable visual information. High-quality VR tours give viewers the ability to virtually be within a scene - to look around and zoom in and out of desired areas, for example. 360º VR tours are generated from seamlessly stitching together multiple properly-exposed photographs shot with a professional-grade camera and lens - all set up on a specialized tripod rig. Vistria3D can then integrate these immersive VR panoramas into fully interactive multi-node tours, as single-node tours embedded in web pages, or into a number of other rich media presentation formats.
For example, real estate agents might wish to have VR panoramas taken of each room in a building for lease and then put links on their website - tying the VR tours to a corresponding floor plan or even into Google Earth. High-end product developers and resellers utilize VR imagery to illustrate their unique products such as yachts, jets and RVs. Parks, public venues, retail stores, restaurants, developers, and historic sites can all benefit from virtually capturing and sharing their visual environment.

In addition to these standard interactive VR formats, Vistria3D and its software partners are currently developing brand new VR software based on 3-dimensional laser scan and CAD data. Scheduled to be released in late 2008, this special viewer combines the best in high resolution 2D photographic information with rich, highly accurate 3D 'point clouds' and CAD models. As this software contains advanced features such as distance and volume measurement, as well as true 3D navigation, it will be targeted toward the industrial engineering and AEC markets.
